Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! I hope you and your family the many blessings of the Easter holiday!

With Easter, the spring season is here. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. Spring is a wonderful time for new beginnings and a fresh start.  I'm looking forward to warmer days, longer nights and fresh flowers.

This year, I've decided to forgo my normal spring concert. Many of you have been asking me periodically for new music and I appreciate your interest. Presently, I'm working on new original music and revamping my live shows that warrant my full attention. I will keep you posted. :)

Next month (April 16th), I have a performance coming up with Preachermann and the Revival at The Shrine. I hope to see you at the show for a soulful experience of atomic soul! You have to see it believe it.

For those of you who are new to my mailing list: welcome and thank you for your support! I have performances with my own projects, The Benita Charles Trio and The Benita Charles and Friends Band. Also, I perform with the atomic band, Preachermann and The Revival. This is not a gospel show but it is heartfelt, soulful music that touches the heart. I hope you will have an opportunity to see one of my shows. Thanks for signing my mailing list.

Moody's Toastmasters Club rocks in Area 53 International Speech and Evaluation Contests in NYC!

Moody's Toastmasters Club: I'm so proud of our club speech winners at the recent Area 53 International Speech and Evaluation Contests this past Thursday (March 9th) at Con Edison in NYC.

Natalie Bowlus placed second in the evaluation contest. Jonathan Pu gave a stellar performance in the international speech contest. Congratulations to our club winners on their outstanding performances!

Afterwards, we were able to chat with one of my favorite speakers, Jim Decker (winner of the Area 51 speech contest) and Penelope Boehm (Past District 46 Governor). They shared words of wisdom to us about the speech contests and evaluation process. We have to get Jim back at Moody's to speak again!

It was such a fun and rewarding evening!
