Rest in peace: Glenn Frey of The Eagles

Rest in peace: I'm so sad to hear of the death of Glenn Frey, one of the founding members of the great rock band, The Eagles.

There was a great documentary on Showtime called "The History of The Eagles." It chronicled the band's rise to fame and not to mention all the great music they produced.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and all his fans.

CNN article: http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/18/entertainment/glenn-frey-obit-feat/

Here's a song co-written by Glen Frey to show you some of his great songwriting. The Eagles posted this on their website.

It's Your World Now

Written by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempchin
From the Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden album

A perfect day, the sun is sinkin' low
As evening falls, the gentle breezes blow
The time we shared went by so fast
Just like a dream, we knew it couldn't last
But I'd do it all again
If I could, somehow
But I must be leavin' soon
It's your world now

It's your world now
My race is run
I'm moving on
Like the setting sun
No sad goodbyes
No tears allowed
You'll be alright
It's your world now

Even when we are apart
You'll always be in my heart
When dark clouds appear in the sky
Remember true love never dies

But first a kiss, one glass of wine
Just one more dance while there's still time
My one last wish: someday, you'll see
How hard I tried and how much you meant to me

It's your world now
Use well your time
Be part of something good
Leave something good behind
The curtain falls
I take my bow
That's how it's meant to be
It's your world now
It's your world now
It's your world now

A special Happy Birthday to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

A special Happy Birthday to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - Civil rights leader. Activist. Orator. One of the greatest leaders of all times. He showed the world that one person can make a difference.

If you don't think you can make a difference in the world or that you don't have anything to offer, think again. Dr. King showed us that you can change the world by doing the right thing. His legacy lives on. Always strive to be your best - the world needs what you have to offer.

The life & legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

AS I CLOSE THE DOOR

Dear Lord, as I close the door on the old year, I ponder the things I've done... the things I've said and the joys I've had I wonder, have I lost or won?

I've thought of new friends I have made, and the old ones, staunch and true... the paths of the old year made easier, Lord, because I have walked them with You

I think of all the many times, when my burdens were so heavy to bear, and how my faith slipped away from me but somehow You were always there

Now, as I open the door to this New Year, and carefully peep inside, I wonder what it holds for me... but I'll throw the door open wide.

Whatever it brings to me and mine, I'll meet it with a heart so true... I know that, Lord, whatever it may be, You'll be there to carry me through!
