Moody's Holiday Choir's community outreach a huge success at Cobble Hill!

What a great time the Moody's Holiday Choir had at the Cobble Hill Health Center in Brooklyn!

The residents really enjoyed themselves and they were a great audience! They sang along with the songs and they were thoroughly entertained during the solo pieces.

It was such an exhilarating feeling to give back to the community and bring so much joy to the residents.  It was so wonderful to see their faces light up when we started to sing. All of us felt such a feeling of fulfillment when the show was over!

I'd like to especially thank Mark Lee (our director), Connie Madrid, Joe Melillo and Luis Valentin for taking the time out of their busy schedules to take part in the Moody's Holiday Choir Community Service at Cobble Hill Health Center.  I'd also like to thank Fran Laserson and Jennifer Stula of the Moody's Foundation and Josephine Puchin of Moody's Corporation for making it possible for the choir to participate in the community outreach program at Cobble Hill Health Center.

It was a huge success and the director of the center along with the residents would like for us to come back! :)

That's what the holidays are all about - giving and sharing love & music to heal the world!!

I wish you and yours a happy holiday season!

xoxo,

Benita

September Concert 2010

September Concert 2010 was a huge success! This year the concert was expanded from only on September 11th to Sept 10 - 12, 2010.

The September Concert Jammers had 3 performances scheduled for the event.

On Friday, September 10th, the Jammers performed to a packed house at the Greenwich Village Bistro in the heart of Greenwich Village in NYC. We always have a great time at the Bistro and crowd was warm and inviting. By the time I sang my original song "The Freedom Song" (which was inspired by the events of 9/11/01), the crowd was really into the music!

Saturday afternoon on Sept 10th, the Jammers performed at the New York Public Library to an enthusiastic crowd. They were more subdued than the Bistro crowd but nonetheless they really enjoyed themselves.

Later that evening, the Jammers closed out the September Concert gala event at the Atrium with songs of love, hope & triumph! It was a wonderful affair.

The September Concert Jammers rocked the Bistro, NY Public Library & the Sept Concert gala this past weekend! I had so much fun filling the air with music for Sept Concert 2010!! :)

Disco Nights!

On Sunday, September 5th, I had the pleasure of performing on Long Island for a Labor Day party. This year's theme was disco.

I had so much fun presenting my Moments in Love show (disco style). I even had the Diana Ross/Donna Summer look. I looked sparkily for disco night! :)

The audience loved the show so much that by the last song, they were dancing in the isles to "We Are Family!" It was such a hugh compliment to see the audience enjoy themselves so much! I did my job.

I received so many wonderful compliments about my performance and my voice. I even signed an autograph!

Just when I think about giving up and get discouraged, God always validate my talents and encourages me to strive for greatness. I know I will make it and the world will hear my music!

It was the jump start that I needed to press on and keep making beautiful music. They really loved my original song "We Can Make A Difference!"

It was such a high and I'm still floating.

Thanks for listening.

Much Love,

Benita Charles Music

Benita's Lesson for the Day: Life is Precious

Benita's lesson for the Day: "Life is so precious! Please tell your loved ones that you love them everyday and cherish every moment together."

I recently lost a loved one suddenly and it made me realize how precious and short life is. We go through our day-to-day lives thinking we have plenty of time and that we always have tomorrow but in reality we don't have tomorrow. We don't know if today will be the last time we see our loved ones, live our lives or take our last breath. That's why it's so important to make everyday count and cherish each moment with our loved ones. Tell them you love them everyday and if you have a conflict with someone, try to resolve it the same day. It is a tragic thing to lose someone without letting them know how much you love them.

I love you, Dear Friends & Fans! -- BCM

Benita's Lesson for the Day: Live for Today

Benita's lesson for the Day: "Today is a new day...a new beginning and a fresh start. Yesterday is the past. Tomorrow is not promised. All we have for sure is right now. Make the most of it!"

Sometimes it's so easy to dwell on the past or worry about the future that we forget about today...right now..this very moment. I'm still learning how to live moment to moment and enjoy every moment as it comes. We have to remember that today is yesterday's tomorrow. I have so many precious memories of special moments. We have to savor those moments because we don't know when it will be the last time that we see or speak to a loved one, enjoy a beloved pet or experience a special event.

Live today to the fullest! :) --BCM

Benita's Lesson for the Day: Life's Lessons

Benita's lesson for the day: "Life is the best teacher. Once you learn a lesson from life, you'll never forget it."

There are times in our lives that no matter what people say to us, we won't learn the lessons until we experience them for ourselves. It's not always a good thing because some lessons are more costlier than others. Sometimes the raw experience is the only way you'll learn a particular lesson. If you can learn from others' mistakes, it's always good to save yourself heartache, pain and disappointments. If not, life will teach you the lesson. It's not always pleasant or easy. The good news is that lessons are here to put us on the path to wisdom. Knowledge is power.
