About Atomic Soul:
Atomic Soul is an anthology of classic soul that covers the spectrum of rhythm & blues, reggae, world beat and a little bit of country. Atomic Soul creates an original and engaging sound of rhythmic beats, haunting melodies and deceptively simple lyrics, delivered with an impassioned intensity that resonates deeply with fans and conveys the spirituality and humility that is the foundation of Preachermann’s work.

Atomic Soul Album: 11 unique creations and tributes to some of the greatest artists of classic soul:
Familiar To Me (2 versions) – Classic House Beats
You Were My Queen – Contemporary R&B
Atomic Soul – R&B Tribute to Marvin Gaye
Freshly Glazed – Mind-Expanding Funk
Water is Rising – Socially-Conscious R&B
Wine in The Mountain – Reggae-Inspired Anthem
Africa Calling – World Beat Anthem
Lightning Doesn’t Strike Twice – Country Soul
Simply Beautiful – Old School R&B With a Twist
I Done Changed – Down Home Blues

What They’re Saying:
About the Industry:
“The year 2020 must be marked by a new direction in music that shakes up the world and puts the focus back in the art and the creators – not on the latest technical trend…In 2020, music will shine again! Those who create something unique will thrive.” Mike Gormley, LA Personal Management & Industry Leader

About the Artist:
“I love the minimal approach to his songs…less is more. It’s a beautiful ride from the start and his vocals are extremely haunting, yet very addictive. He reminds me of a young sounding Bill Withers at times. His songs are so fresh and the delivery is perfect.” DJ Bob, London
“With a voice that reminds you of Curtis Mayfield with a bit of Al Green during his chain rockin’ shirtless period. Preachermann channels the energy of many soul singers of the past… Apparent in his interaction with the audience at live shows…you can see that it’s not all about him.” Blogspot.com
“Impassioned, yet wickedly subtle, politically conscious old-school style soul crooner, Preachermann & The Revival…Sort of the missing link between late-period Marvin Gaye and Gil Scott Heron.” NY Music Daily.World Press.com

Thanks to all who attended the Make Music NY Show @ Corkscrew Wines BK!

The Benita Charles Trio @ Corkscrew Brooklyn Wines

The Power of Music: A special thanks to all who attended our show at Corkscrew Wines Brooklyn for the 13th annual Make Music New York festival.  It truly was a night to remember and one of our best shows to date.

One of the things that made this an exceptional show is the audience engagement we had.  We literally had the whole street singing along on our songs.  In addition to my original song, the Freedom Song.  The crowd also sang along to the cover song I do "Work To Do." They were attentive and hanging on to every word and note. The crowd stayed through the full performance and requested an encore! Additionally, they even gave me valuable feedback at the end to make my show even better.  It was so appreciated because it was given with love.

One of the best compliments we got is the fact that even though we are a trio, we sounded like a full orchestra band and that we sounded very tight and in sync with each other.
The highlight of the night was when one of the audience members approached us to tell us their mother, who was wheel chaired bound and passing through reacted to our music.  She was told that she would die on Tuesday but she was determined to see her grandson's graduation and insisted on going.  Her nurse was pushing her wheel chair past us when they stopped and listened to our song, "Work To Do."  Her son told us that she reacted to the music and he was so excited about that! That touched my heart in such a way.  I can't explain the joy I felt in knowing that our music reached her to give a reaction.  That was the first time that had ever happened and it was truly a miracle. The power of music is incredible!!!

A special thanks to the owner of Corkscrew Wines Brooklyn, Karin  Holm Torres for requesting us and her staff for being so accommodating! They truly made us feel so welcomed.  She said she wants us back. I'm looking forward to more collaborations.

A special thanks to my band: Peter Archer (guitar) and Cheo (percussion) for their musicianship and professionalism.  It's always a pleasure and thank you for the music!

Thanks to all the new fans we made and our faithful fans.  You truly make this journey so worth it!

Last night's show was a message to me that I am on the right journey to changing the world through my music! I'm going to continue to "Let my Light Shine!"

We rocked the NYC Marathon today!

Peter Archer and Benita Charles at NYC Marathon (49th and 4th) in Brooklyn

Today, Peter Archer, my guitarist and I rocked the crowd and the runners at the NYC Marathon at 49th and 4th in Brooklyn.

I performed a host of original music and favorite covers.  In addition, I was DJ Benita Charles Music, playing a variety of music including House, Disco, Rock and motivational songs for the runners, like Eye of the Tiger, Roar and Chariots of Fire.

I even did an extended version of my new single, Never Ever Give Up for the runners as they flowed down the street. It was unbelievable.

I loved our location, 49th and 4th Ave in Brooklyn. It wasn't over crowded and there was just enough people to keep the crowd motivated and support the runners.

It was so amazing to see the sea of runners filter down the street.  I was also inspired to see the handicapped people participate in the race.  I admire there strength and fortitude.

We had a great event coordinator, Dekker Dai.  He really took care of us and made sure all our needs were taken care of.  He even was kind enough to help me pack up when the show was over.

Definitely looking forward to an even bigger show next year!!!
