Benita Charles to compete in Toastmasters Area Contest - 9/24/15

A blessing in disguise: This past Wednesday, I placed second in the Moody's Toastmasters Club Humorous Speech Contest. However, the first place winner is not able to make the area contest next week. I will be representing our club next week instead. I feel like this a perfect opportunity to get it right! I'll take it!

The Toastmasters Area Contest for the financial district will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Moody's Corporation at 7 World Trade Center at 6 pm.

Benita Speaks! (Toastmasters Division E International Speech Competition) on April 9th!

(New York, New York) April 2, 2014. On Wednesday, April 9, 2014 , NY-Vocalist, Benita Charles, winner of the 2014 Area 53 Speech Competition on March 5th, will compete in the Toastmasters  Division E International Speech Competition at the Federal Reserve Bank at 5:30 pm. Her moving speech is titled, "I Want A Divorce!" The event is sponsored by F.R.O.G. Toastmasters. The winner of the division contest will move on to compete in the Toastmasters District 46 Conference in May 2014.



Toastmasters International (TI) is a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help people learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking. Benita Charles is a singer/songwriter/recording artist based in New York City.  She has performed across the tri-state area as well as produced many concerts spreading love and joy in support of her debut CD, Moments In Love: Volume 1.  She can now add motivational speaker to her list of accomplishments.

Moody's Club shines at Toastmasters Area 43 Competition - 3/28/12

As many of you know, I recently competed in the Toastmasters Area 43 Speech Competition Wednesday night (March 28th) in New York City.

Wendy Shao and I won second prize at the Toastmasters Area Speech Competition in New York City. I won second place for the international speech contest and Wendy won second place for the table topic (impromptu speech) contest. Wendy is our club president. It was a great night for the Moody's Club! It only goes up from here. :)

I joined Moody's Toastmasters club in December 2011 to improve my public speaking ability and presentation skills. It has been a great journey as I've definitely grown professionally and personally as an artist. I'm very excited to continue this journey to see where it will take me.
